The Marriage Enrichment Campaign of Union County 2007

The Union County Family Coalition announces the release of $10,000 in funds supplied by the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services in collaboration with the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service to provide resources for strengthening relationships and between married and engaged couples.

This project represents a unique partnership with several faith based organizations and community organizations within the Union County area.  First Assembly of God Church, El Dorado, along with First Baptist Church, College Avenue Church of Christ, Families and Children Together Agency, and the local Union County Extension Office have committed their time and resources to the Marriage Enrichment Campaign of Union County 2007.

With the $10,000 funded by the Community Investment Initiative, the Union County Family Coalition will implement three priorities:  making the “Marriage Garden” enrichment curriculum available to couples in Union County; helping faith-based organizations provide this material to couples through the formats they deem most appropriate; and offering training to enable churches to establish marriage mentoring programs.

Through participating churches, advertising, and other venues of promotion, married and engaged couples of Union County would be invited to various workshops, seminars, marriage retreats and classes sponsored by participating churches. These events will be posted on the Union County Family on the "Upcoming Events" page of this site.

We believe the marriage education curriculum provided in this campaign can not only have an immediate positive impact on marriages in our area, but by establishing mentoring programs throughout Union County marriages will continue to be strengthened for many years to come.
